Thank you is not enough to say to the amazing volunteers that make up the Board of Governors. I am excited, happy, truly honored, and humbled to be a Moriches Yacht Club Commodore. Historically, 27 years ago my father Anthony DiResta took the helm as commodore. He along with other past commodores recognized that “the Moriches Yacht Club’s rich history and accomplishments could never be achieved and sustained without the commitment and participation of our membership.”
I am extremely optimistic and excited about the future of the Moriches Yacht Club. With our membership’s continued support and eagerness to make our club a welcoming, relaxing, and fun environment, we will continue to remain strong, build friendships, and lifelong memories.
From monitoring the club finances, long-range planning, facility improvements, social activities, running sailing or boating events, the members have a large role in the success and fun at the club.
I encourage all members, new and seasoned, to join a committee and get involved as it can be a rewarding experience. As we embark upon another year at the club, let’s reflect on our common passion for sailing, boating, socialization, and the good friendships we make, while remembering the paths that our predecessors forged … from which we now reap the benefits.
